Saving Christmas in the Village
When the Blackheath Traders Association disbanded earlier this year it seemed likely that we would also loose our famous Christmas lights. This sad news shocked local residents and traders alike and subsequently a campaign has been launched to save the lights which have bringing festive cheer to the village every Christmas since 1983.
Blackheath Lights Ltd was incorporated in July 2007 with the sole purpose of raising sufficient funds to ensure that the Blackheath lights continue to give joy to those who live, work and shop in Blackheath over the festive season this year and in perpetuity. It is hoped to obtain charitable status for the company as soon as possible.
A programme of fundraising events is now getting under way with the Blackheath Luncheon Club donating profits from it's Annual Ball to the campaign.
